Step 3: Create Recovery Request
Under "Settings" copy your Account ID and save it somewhere.

Click on your name (top right) and click "Sign Out"

Go to https://www.epicgames.com/help/en-US/wizards/w6?s=0 click on Start Account Recovery. This will allow us to make a fake recovery request and it prevents the original owner from making one, temporarily blocking them out of their account.

Enter your personal email (not the account email).

Select Account ID and paste in your Account ID you saved earlier.

Enter fake (but realistic) information in all the boxes. Once you have submitted the account recovery request, you will get this in your email:

Wait until this request gets denied. It will get denied in EXACTLY 48 hours and a few minutes. Here is an example of the pending request timestamp and denied request timestamp.

If your recovery request is denied, click “Submit a new account recovery request” right away and follow the same steps again. Context (optional to read): A recovery request creates an active Epic Games support case tied to the account. While a request is active, Epic Games will not allow anyone else (including the original owner) to submit their own recovery request because there is already one active, which temporarily blocks them from pulling the account back. Your request is supposed to be denied because you don’t have the original creation details (payments, receipts, etc). When it gets denied (a few minutes past 48 hours), you must submit a new request immediately to keep the account safe and to block the original owner from reclaiming the account.
